“The Keys to Being a Resilient Human Being”

DAVENPORT, Ia. —February 19 2018— Quad Cities Youth Conference (QCYC), a non-profit organization that highlights the signification of empowering youth, will hold its 33rd annual conference on Wednesday, February 21 and Thursday, February 22 at the RiverCenter. Over a dozen advocates for youth will provide positive and factual information on a wide variety of topics to enhance and enrich the lives of teenage children as they become young adults.

The conference is the only two-day event of its kind in the area, and one of few nationally. The first day is targeted toward middle school students and the second day is targeted toward high school students. The format of each day includes: a keynote speaker, workshops by local agencies, lunch, informational booths, and a keynote closing. A few of the goals of the Quad Cities Conference are to: empower youth through developmental workshops and programs, to help young people develop decision making skills, and to encourage a positive attitude about one’s ability and future.

Students from every school in the Quad Cities area and surrounding districts are invited to attend. The conference is funded in part by local organizations, agencies and businesses. For further information, contact chairman Carrol Diaz at carrol.diaz@riroe.com. In collaboration with SPARK Suicide Prevention and Resilient Kids, the Quad Cities Youth Conference keynote speakers will provide a parent round table about building resiliency on Wednesday, February 21st, from 6:30-8:00 at the Davenport RiverCenter.
