ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 5, 2024) — Augustana College senior Alyssa Macias, a public health major from Davenport, IA (52806), was nominated to submit a 'More Than I Imagined' profile by Dr Lena Hann, associate professor of public health.

Annually, faculty nominate Augustana's seniors who have achieved remarkable academic or personal growth to appear in the college's 'More Than I Imagined' series. Read Macias' profile at More Than I Imagined.

Dr Hann said Macias is a shining example of how to combine academic interests with a passion for helping people.

"From interning at the Boys and Girls Club, to serving as president of Boundless Health and Wellness, to engaging with international health professionals while studying abroad, her ability to connect with communities in need is unmatched," Dr Hann said. "Alyssa's drive, insightfulness, and collaborative spirit have been assets at Augustana and in the community. We are excited to see where her next adventures lead. Congrats Alyssa!"
