Company is focused on helping Members and Associates transition
Des Moines, IA – After months of negotiations yielded no agreement on contract rates and terms, AmeriHealth Caritas Iowa has decided to withdraw from the Iowa Medicaid managed care program, IA Health Link, effective November 30, 2017.
“We are proud of the work the women and men of AmeriHealth Caritas Iowa have done for the people of Iowa over the last 19 months,” said Regional President of AmeriHealth Caritas Russell Gianforcaro. “We delivered on the promise of Medicaid managed care and the results have been noteworthy, as demonstrated by the recent JD Power survey that ranked Iowa’s new program second in the nation for customer satisfaction.”
“Our focus now is on working collaboratively with the State in providing a seamless transition for our members. We wish the state of Iowa well as it continues this important program,” said Gianforcaro.
“From the outset, AmeriHealth Caritas Iowa has been a valued partner as we implemented Medicaid managed care,” said IA Health Link Director Jerry Foxhoven. “This partnership and collaboration will continue as we work to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of care for members.”
