COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (September 9, 2021) — Do you have a favorite animal at Niabi Zoo? Would you like to purchase a special piece of art that one of our animal family painted? Well, soon you can!

September has been designated Animal Enrichment and Art Month here at Niabi Zoo and, throughout the month of September, we will provide opportunities for you to purchase unique, one-of-a-kind pieces of art completed by a whole host of our animal residents.

All artwork is original (no copies or prints).  We’ll have animal footprints, feather prints, and even body prints (for you snake lovers) available.  Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity and the animals’ artwork also comes with a biography of the animal that completed the piece and how it was accomplished.  One-hundred percent of the proceeds will go to support our Animal Enrichment Program.

Art lovers will have 5 separate dates throughout September (11, 12, 18, 19, and 25), 9AM-2PM, we will have animal art for sale on zoo grounds. Prices for the art pieces will start for as little as $10. We hope you will come out and select that perfect piece for your home or office.

We will also have everyone’s wellness in mind and create a safe environment to check out the artwork while practicing social-distancing, mask-wearing, and hand-hygiene.

Our animals (facilitated by their keepers) have been busy creating some amazing artwork, so we hope you’ll plan your visit to the zoo early and help support our animal enrichment program by purchasing some amazing one-of-a-kind original artwork.
