DUBUQUE, IOWA (January 27, 2023) — The Archway Reading and Lecture Series at the University of Dubuque will return to in-person events this semester. The series will kick off with a poetry reading and discussion by poet and editor JD Schraffenberger at 4:30PM, Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in the Multicultural Student Center, Peter and Susan Smith Welcome Center on campus.

The event is free and open to the public. It will include a brief Q&A with Schraffenberger.

Schraffenberger is editor of the North American Review and a professor of English at the University of Northern Iowa. He is the author of two books of poems, Saint Joe’s Passion and The Waxen Poor. His other work has appeared in Best of Brevity, Best Creative Nonfiction, Notre Dame Review, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere. Schraffenberger has edited two collections for the NAR Press, The Great Sympathetic: Walt Whitman and the North American Review and Manifold Nature: John Burroughs and the North American Review.
