August is full of fun summer events in LeClaire, Iowa.
LECLAIRE, IOWA: In addition to wining, dining, shopping and touring there are many great events going on in LeClaire, Iowa. Libations Lane (Wide River Winery Tasting Room, Mississippi River Distilling Co. & Cody Road Cocktail House, and Green Tree Brewery), and Steventon’s have live music on the weekends, too! There is always something fun going on in LeClaire.
Friday, August 4, 5pm-Midnight: First Friday in LeClaire. Celebrate First Friday every month of the year! Enjoy fun, food, live music, and shopping in downtown LeClaire! Some shops open late and food and drink specials at bars and restaurants.
Antique Archaeology is open until 6pm.
Aunt Hattie’s is open late.
Bela is open until 8pm with food and drink samples.
Blue Iguana – Salsa Night with DJ Flacko and Vamparitos for $4.
Faithful Pilot has live music 8-11pm.
Green Tree Brewery has D's Smokin’ BBQ and live music by Doug Brundies’ Acoustic Show from 8-11pm on their patio.
Mississippi River Distilling Company & Cody Road Cocktail House has live music by Gary Pearson & Rob Dahms of the Night People and Free First Friday food samples from 5-8 pm.
Razzleberries is open late.
The Shameless Chocoholic is open until 8pm.
Steventon’s Sunset Concert with is from 6-9pm.
Wide River Winery Tasting Room has live music in their courtyard.
August 5, 9am-3pm: Quad City British Auto Club Heartland British Auto Fest in LeClaire, Iowa. In beautiful downtown LeClaire on the Levee, this car show displays some of the area’s best examples of British cars from makers such as Jaguar, MG, Mini, Triumph, and more. DJ Greg Zirbes will be providing British Invasion Rock & Roll music and announcing prizes. • Show starts at 9am - noon for car registration • Judging starts at noon • Awards presented at 3pm. Classes for most British cars. Many activities for the whole family. The Entry Form can be found at www.qcbac.com. FREE admission for spectators. August 7-14: The LeClaire levee and boat ramps will be closed for Tug Fest 2017. Boaters may utilize the ramp at Green Gables in LeClaire for a small fee. We appreciate your understanding, apologize for any inconvenience, and hope to see you on the levee for Tug Fest August 10-12, 2017! www.tugfest.com
Thursday-Saturday, August 10-12: Tug Fest. Tug Fest has been going strong for 31 years with each year’s competition between Iowa and Illinois tuggers getting more intense. This year’s festival kicks off on Thursday, August 10 with Family Night and FREE admission. Friday, August 11 LeClaire will host the grand parade, fireworks spectacular, and live music performed by Rolling Thunder – The Music of AC/DC. Saturday, August 12 is Tug Day with a children’s tug in the morning and the BIG Tug at 12:30pm, followed by an arm wrestling tournament and an awesome live entertainment show by The Brat Pack in the evening. Illinois leads the competition with 19 winning years over Iowa’s 11. Who will take home the trophy this year? August 12, 7-11am: Civic Club Pancake Breakfast during Tug Fest. Pancakes, Egg Casserole, Sausage, Fresh Fruit, Juice, Coffee, and Homemade Cinnamon Rolls, all for $5 in advance or $7 at the door. Friday, August 18, 8pm: Laugh in LeClaire at The Black Watch Room, 3851 195th Street featuring Jim Petersen (emcee) and comedians Josh Alton and Bobby Ray Bunch. Cocktail hour begins at 6:30pm with pizza and appetizer menus available. Laughs start at 8pm. $10 in advance, $12 day of the show. Reserve tickets by calling The Black Watch Room at 563-332-5072.
Saturday, August 19, 8-10am: Cars and Coffee on the Levee. Bring your favorite ride (any make, model, and year; two, three or four wheels) and join other vehicle enthusiasts on the beautiful riverfront in LeClaire for an “all are welcome” social gathering. Saturday, August 19: Twilight Riverboat Sightseeing Cruises | 11am 1pm 3pm
$16 adults, $8 children (4-12), Free 3 & under. What better way to see the river than from the deck of an old-fashioned riverboat! Treat yourself to a 1-1/2 hour sightseeing cruise aboard the Riverboat Twilight. These cruises will depart and return from the Port of LeClaire, Iowa. Trip includes captivating Captain’s narration and commanding views of the river, its wildlife, and quaint river towns. Cash bar and Gift Shop available. Saturday, August 26, 8am-4pm: Vettes on the River. Join us for a huge all-Corvette car show on the beautiful riverfront in LeClaire! The Mid-West Corvette Club is hosting “Vettes on the River – Vettes Supporting Vets” in LeClaire, Iowa. All money raised from the 2017 Vettes On The River event will be donated to Vietnam Veterans groups in the Quad Cities area. They are expecting a record-breaking turnout of over 500 cars. Most cars should be in attendance by noon that day. A flag raising ceremony by Vietnam Veterans will take place at 11am to salute all veterans and active military. If you own a Corvette, this is a great event to show fellow Corvette enthusiasts your “pride & joy” along the beautiful Mississippi River. There will be a LeClaire’s choice award and trophies for each “C” generation. There will also be live music by “Cosmic”. Admission is FREE for spectators.
