DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 19, 2019) — Bob Goff, the New York Times Best-Selling Author of "Love Does" and "Everybody Always", is scheduled to speak at Davenport North High School’s Paul J Holzworth Performing Arts Center on April 9 about dreaming big and making life more awesome. Project 15:12 Love One Another, a Quad Cities non-profit organization, is hosting Goff as a fundraiser for the organization. This is their third speaker in their “No Greater Love” speaker-series. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through Project 15:12’s website, www.project1512.com. Each ticket is $25. Tickets can also be purchased at the door the night of the event. The keynote presentation begins at 7PM.
Choosing to live audaciously, Bob connects to audiences in a powerfully inspirational, yet down-to-earth manner. In Bob’s first book, "Love Does", he compiles a collection of stories that reveal the biggest lesson he has learned, namely, that love is not an emotion or a state of mind: it’s an action. It needs to be lived and experienced, and Bob demonstrates that in nearly-unbelievable ways. In Bob’s second book "Everybody Always", he encourages readers to love everybody, always, even difficult people. He ties his message back to Jesus and how Jesus loves. Bob introduces readers to numerous people throughout the book and weaves Christian lessons throughout his stories of encounters with others. Bob is wildly entertaining and has a wit and a delivery that keeps audiences engaged and smiling. His laughter and joy are infectious and each story keeps you wanting to hear more.
“We’re just so excited to welcome Bob to Davenport,” said Project 15:12 co-director Monica Burchett. “His message fits so well with what our organization does. We know Bob will be an inspiration to everyone who joins us!”
“Bob’s books challenge us to love everyone right where they’re at,” points out Karly Driscoll, Project 15:12 co-director. “That’s something our world needs to hear so desperately right now.”
Bob is also an attorney, a professor at Pepperdine Law School and Point Loma Nazarene University and most importantly, he is the husband of Sweet Maria Goff. Also on his list of accomplishments, he is the founder of Love Does, a nonprofit human rights organization operating in Uganda, India, Iraq, Nepal, Afghanistan, and Somalia.
Project 15:12, who gets their name from the Bible verse John 15:12, strives to fill a void of services in the Quad City area. Those they help are in what is often referred to as the middle place; individuals or families who are not receiving any other kind of state or federal income based assistance such as food stamps or Medicaid, but who are going through some sort of life transition. These life transitions can be, but aren’t limited to, divorce, sickness or death in the immediate family, loss of job, or natural disaster. The goal is to help someone through a rough patch so they don’t fall on harder times. Since January 2016, Project 15:12 has helped over 170 individuals or families including over 280 children right here in the Quad Cities by assisting with over $115,000 in aid.
