MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 9, 2026) — Bethany Baptist Church of Moline will celebrate its 150th anniversary September 11-13, 2026, marking a century and a half of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serving the Quad Cities community.
With the theme “150 Years of God’s Faithfulness,” the anniversary weekend will celebrate Bethany’s rich history, from its Swedish beginnings in 1876 to the congregation it is today.
Current and former members, friends of the church and anyone with a connection to Bethany are invited to take part in the weekend’s events.
The celebration will begin Friday, September 11, with an informal time of fellowship at River House Bar and Grill in Moline 6-8PM. Guests are invited to stop in during the evening to reconnect with old friends, share memories, and enjoy light hors d'oeuvres.
On Saturday, September 12, a special anniversary program will begin at 1:30PM at Bethany Baptist Church, 700 35th Avenue Place, Moline. The program will take guests on a journey through Bethany’s 150-year history, remembering the people, ministries, and milestones that have shaped the church through the generations. The afternoon will conclude with fellowship and desserts from a local bakery.
The anniversary weekend will culminate Sunday, September 13, with a special worship service at 10:30AM celebrating God’s faithfulness throughout Bethany’s history and looking ahead to the church’s continued ministry. A potluck luncheon will follow the service, featuring meat provided by Holy Smokes Meats.
Anyone who has been part of Bethany’s story — whether as a member, former member, attendee, neighbor, or friend — is especially encouraged to attend. Come celebrate 150 years of memories, ministry, and God’s faithfulness as Bethany Baptist Church honors its past, celebrates its present, and looks forward to the future.
