DES MOINES, IOWA (May 20, 2019) — Beto O’Rourke will participate in a televised CNN Town Hall at Drake University in Des Moines Tuesday, May 21, at 10 PM EDT/9 PM CDT. The town hall will be moderated by CNN Chief Political Correspondent Dana Bash. Local media should RSVP to CNN directly, and instructions are at the bottom of this advisory. The town hall comes during O’Rourke’s fourth trip to the Hawkeye State since launching his campaign for president. On Monday, he toured flood-damage in Davenport and held a town hall in the community. When he takes the stage in Des Moines, O’Rourke will have hosted 63 events in 36 counties — more than any presidential candidate this cycle. After releasing an ambitious plan to tackle climate change, O’Rourke toured areas affected by historic flooding in southwest Iowa and met with residents and local officials to discuss the impact of climate change on their communities. Inspired by the conversations he has had with Iowans all across the state, Beto unveiled new elements of his climate plan that leverage opportunities to partner with Iowans to combat the effects of climate change and build a more resilient and green future. Since launching his candidacy for President of the United States in March, Beto has hosted 153 events with tens of thousands of Americans in 118 cities across 14 states and the District of Columbia. He has personally driven over 6,150 miles as his grassroots campaign has criss-crossed the United States answering more than 1,000 questions from voters. WHAT: CNN Town Hall WHERE: Drake University, Des Moines IA WHEN: 9PM CT/10PM ET
