BETTENDORF, IOWA (May 13, 2025) The Bettendorf Community School District is proud to host its Annual Future Ready Week from May 19 to May 23 across all school buildings. This week-long celebration is designed to inspire and support students as they explore future career pathways and post-secondary opportunities.

Future Ready Week features engaging events, hands-on experiences, and meaningful conversations aimed at helping students envision and prepare for life after high school. Highlights include career exploration activities, guest speakers, and a special celebration honoring our graduating seniors and their next steps — whether it be college, career, or military service.

Throughout the week:

2nd and 3rd Grade — across all elementary schools:

Volunteers will read a career-related book (will be provided) to the students and then share a little about their own career journey. We still need volunteers: Sign up here!

4th Grade Classrooms — Career Day Showcase — across all elementary schools:

Volunteers will speak about their career, how they achieved their current role, what they love about their job, and other highlights from their professional journey. We still need volunteers: Sign up here!

May 20: BMS Parking Lot Career Fair

8-11AM — Local businesses fill the BMS parking lot to showcase their careers for our sixth-grade students.

May 21: BHS Donuts and Decision

10:30-11AM — A Senior Class Decision Day to celebrate our Seniors' future plans. Students will have a photo booth, donut bar, raffle, signing the class banner, and giving the Life Impact staff award. This is a high-energy event.May 22: 

Bettendorf Middle School — Public Safety Career Day

8AM-2PM — The Bettendorf Police Department, National Guard, and Iowa Department of Public Safety will show our seventh-grade students the behind the scenes of their careers in hands-on activities throughout the day.

BMS Military Signing Day 

1:30-2PM — During this ceremony, Senior students that are enlisting in the military or enrolling in an ROTC program will be recognized with area service members, recruiters, families, and peers. This is a special opportunity for our students that have decided to serve their country after graduation.
