BETTENDORF, IOWA (August 18, 2026) — Bettendorf High School (BHS) has been recognized as a FAFSA Focused School of Achievement by the Iowa Department of Education Bureau of Iowa College Aid for its outstanding efforts to help students and families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Bettendorf High School set a goal of having 55% of its seniors complete the FAFSA. As of August 1, BHS surpassed that goal, reaching an impressive 62% completion rate.

“This recognition reflects our commitment to ensuring students have the resources and support they need to pursue their goals after high school,” said Career Readiness Coordinator Haleigh Hoyt.

“Completing the FAFSA can make a significant difference in making college and other postsecondary opportunities more accessible and affordable for our students and families.”

The FAFSA is an important step for students seeking financial assistance for college and other postsecondary education opportunities. By guiding students and families through the financial aid process, Bettendorf High School is helping open doors to higher education and reduce financial barriers to college access.

A special thank-you goes to Haleigh Hoyt, Bettendorf High School Career Readiness Coordinator, for her leadership and dedication in helping students and families navigate the FAFSA process. Her outreach, guidance, and continued support were instrumental in helping BHS exceed its completion goal and earn this recognition.

Bettendorf Community School District is proud of the students, families, and staff who contributed to this achievement and remains committed to preparing students for success in college, career, and beyond.
