March 6, 2017 – (New York, NY) – Sabina Saliu of Bettendorf, Iowa, a student at LIM College in New York City, has been awarded the institution’s prestigious Maxwell F. Marcuse Founder’s Scholarship, which provides half of the tuition for her senior year.

Sabina is a graduate of Pleasant Valley High School and is the daughter of Zoro and Annie Saliu. She was chosen for the Maxwell F. Marcuse Founder’s Scholarship, which is given to only one student annually, after a comprehensive and rigorous selection process that included a personal interview with LIM College President Elizabeth S. Marcuse. Candidates must also write an essay and have a GPA of at least 3.5 to be eligible for the award named in honor of Maxwell F. Marcuse, who founded LIM in 1939.

Sabina is majoring in Fashion Merchandising at LIM College, which focuses exclusively on the study of business and fashion. The College’s curriculum features a unique combination of traditional instruction and required fashion industry internships.

Sabina has had the opportunity to intern at leading fashion companies, including Versace, Cotton Incorporated, Christian Louboutin, and Moschino.
Her career goal is to become a creative director.

She says, “This scholarship means the world to me. It is a testament to how far I can go if I push myself. Not only did LIM motivate me, but they also supported me every step of the way.”
