DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 29, 2026) — The Quad Cities Bicycle Club will host a “Christmas in July” bike tour on Sunday, July 12. Both QCBC members and members of the public are welcome to take part in the tour.

The tour will begin at Front Street Brewery’s taproom at the Freight House in Davenport at 11:30AM, though you are welcome to begin riding after then. The event will end at about 5PM.

Front Street and four other breweries close to the riverfront paths in Iowa and Illinois — Great River in Davenport, Bent River in Moline and Rock Island, and Adventurous Brewing in Bettendorf — will be part of the ride. The route for the ride covers about ten miles and will cross both the Government Bridge and the I-74 Bridge.

The cost to go on the tour is $10, with payment in cash taken at the start; note that credit and debit cards cannot be accepted. Advance registration is not required; you need only to show up.

All proceeds will benefit Bikes for Tykes, an annual effort by the QCBC to brighten the holiday season by donating bicycles and accessories to the children of needy families in the area. The tour was held for the first time last year and raised more than $2,900 for Bikes for Tykes. More than ninety cyclists took part in the ride in 2025.

You don’t have to be a beer drinker to participate in the tour; non-alcoholic beverages will be available at every stop. All riders should wear helmets and follow proper trail etiquette.

The event will feature a drawing for gift baskets and a fifty/fifty raffle.
