MOLINE, ILLINOIS (July 27, 2026) — The Black Box Theatre presents PUFFS or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic. Potterphiliacs who grew up alongside Potter and want to revisit that world, ‘PUFFS’ exudes a jovial, slapstick energy for all things Harry!”
You think you know all things Harry, this clever and inventive show “gives you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three potential heroes, trying to make it through a magical school that proves to be very dangerous for children.” It’s been called “hilariously heartfelt” (Metro), and a group so “lovable and relatable, you’ll leave the theatre wishing they were in the stories all along” (Hollywood Life).
Bringing the show to life is director Kailey Ackermann and co-director Kat Jecklin, stage manager (intern) Linnea Strack. The cast includes Aaron Deneckere as Wayne, Aiden Earley as Ernie Mac, Cayla Odendahl as the Narrator, Eden Myers as Leanne, Elissa Dynes as Megan, Emma Hughes as Hannah/Xavia, Matt Call as J Finch, Savannah Skidmore as Sally, Tommy Ratkiewicz as Cedric/Voldy, Valerie Moore as Susie/Harry, and Vea Vavrosky as Oliver. Most of the characters also appear as other minor characters as well.
The show runs August 6-15 with shows August 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, and 15 at 7:30PM and August 9 at 2PM.
