Looking for a New Year’s resolution that is both fun and doable? How about reading more books?  Join one of our book clubs at the Davenport Library where you’ll meet new people, read great books and have fun discussing them. We have something for everyone!

Stranger Than Fiction takes a look at the world we’re living in right now with nonfiction books that explore the outlandish and bizarre. It will meet on the first Thursday of the month beginning January 4 at 6:30pm at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount Street). Books will be available at Fairmount on a first come, first serve basis. No registration required.

See YA is a book club for adults with a teen twist. Find out why so many teen books are being made into movies and are taking over the best seller lists. See YA will meet on the second Wednesday of the month beginning on January 10 at 6:30pm at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue). Books will be available at Eastern on a first come, first serve basis. No registration required.

Shorts and Sweets meets on the second Monday of the month at 10:00am beginning on January 8 at Fairmount. Discuss short stories and while enjoying some sweet treats! Copies of the stories will be available at Fairmount on a first come, first serve basis. No registration required.

Underground Book Club explores fiction of the weird, the under-the-radar, the subversive, the “underground”. This club will meet on the second Monday of every month beginning on March 12 at 6:30pm at Main (321 Main Street). Books will be available at Main on a first come, first serve basis. No registration required.

And don’t forget about our Online Reading Challenge! In 2018 we’ll “Travel Through Time,” reading books set in a different time period each month. Check out the Davenport Library reference blog, Info Café (blogs.davenportlibrary.com/reference) for more information. No registration required.
