Des Moines, IA- State Senator Nate Boulton, Democratic candidate for governor, made the following statement in reaction to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown closing one of its residential halls.

“Once again, Governor Reynolds and legislative Republicans have left Iowans behind with a budget that only prioritizes corporate tax credits, exemptions and giveaways," said Boulton. "This time, Iowa veterans are feeling the squeeze as the Marshalltown Veterans Home plans to close a residence hall, forcing the occupants to room together for an undetermined amount of time. While our veterans’ quality of life is diminished in Iowa, Reynolds continues misguided budget practices while ignoring the needs of regular Iowans. Our Iowa veterans deserve better after their service to and sacrifices for our country.”
