Des Moines, IA- State Senator Nate Boulton, Democratic candidate for governor, made the following statement after Governor Reynolds’ budget hearing.

“Today, Governor Reynolds held a public budget hearing attended by Iowans advocating for issues, hoping to spare their causes from harmful budget cuts,” said Boulton. “As Iowa faces another round of multi-million dollar midyear budget cuts to start the upcoming legislative session, Governor Reynolds continues to extend tax credits, exemptions, and giveaways to corporations rather than invest in and support stronger and safer Iowa communities. Iowa's working families deserve a better plan forward than more of the same decisions that have caused this ongoing budget mess that threatens our quality of life in Iowa.”
