DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 8, 2019) — Gilda’s Club is hosting a free workshop for anyone impacted by cancer titled “Cancer Pain Management” on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 6–7PM at Gilda’s Club (1234 East River Drive, Davenport, Iowa).

Join Serena L Curler MSN/ACNP-BCACHPH for a workshop about cancer pain-management. Cancer can cause pain in many ways: the cancer itself, the treatment and its side-effects, surgery pain, lasting effects from cancer, and its treatment once someone is cancer-free, etc. Cancer can also be treated in many ways: prescription medication, over-the-counter medication, natural remedies, and many more.

This workshop will focus on:

  • General principles of pain management for cancer pain
  • Different drugs
    • Dosing, routes, and frequency
    • Side effects
  • Opioid crisis as it relates to cancer patients
  • Fact clarification about CBD and THC

Anyone impacted by cancer is welcome to attend. Registration is required.
