DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 21, 2025) — The Social Justice and Pastoral Care Teams at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Quad Cities (UUCQC), along with other organizations, are announcing that they are throwing a birthday party for Medicaid and Medicare’s sixtieth birthday July 30. 6-8PM, at UUCQC, 3707 Eastern Avenue, Upstairs Sanctuary.

It is part of an effort around the country where organizations are bringing attention to the value of these programs while building community on this day.

This non-partisan and positive event is an opportunity for community members to come together and share personal stories of how Medicare and Medicaid have supported their health, families, and well-being. There will be balloons, cake, drinks, and many other elements of a party for all present to enjoy.

This gathering is part of our ongoing commitment to community outreach, offering space for meaningful conversations and relationship-building.

Join us to honor the intent of these transformative programs and acknowledge their role in the health and dignity of our community members. We look forward to celebrating with you and the rest of the United States.
