PELLA, IOWA (November 12, 2019) — Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig will present "Conversations on Clean Water in Iowa" at Tuesday, 11AM, November 19, in the Recital Hall of Cox-Snow Music Center on the Central College campus.
As Ag Sec, Naig is focused on water-quality, land-stewardship, and advocating for healthy soil and water. Sec Naig led the implementation of Iowa's nutrient-reduction strategy and continues to build momentum on water-quality.
Naig joined the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship as deputy secretary to former Sec of Agriculture Bill Northey in 2013. As the deputy secretary, Naig led multiple trade missions around the world, advocating for agriculture.
Sec Naig was appointed to his current position by Governor Kim Reynolds, on March 5, 2018, and elected to a full term on November 6, 2018. He also currently serves as the co-chair of the Gulf of Mexico Hypoxia Task Force.
