DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 15, 2019) — Per Mar Security Services and Marc Klaas of the non-profit KlaasKids Foundation will host a KlaasKids Print-AThon to promote and educate families about child safety and fingerprint and photograph children at no cost. Using computerized systems originally designed for a federal law enforcement agency, each child will receive digitized fingerprints, an updated photograph, pro-active child safety tips, a 12-point plan on what to do if your child disappears, and a DNA Collection Kit developed by the California DNA Laboratory.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children to River Bandits Game at Modern Woodman Park (sports lounge located behind home plate) between 5:30PM to End of Game on Friday, July 19. A KlaasKids representative will be available to answer questions about child safety and will facilitate the free fingerprinting and photographing. A bio-document will be given to parents for safekeeping and DNA kits will be distributed to all participants.

Marc Klaas, the father of kidnap/murder victim Polly Klaas will attend and participate in this event.

Child Safety is one of our community’s most important issues, but it is one we tend to take for granted until a tragedy happens.

The KlaasKids Foundation was created following the 1993 kidnap and murder of 12-year-old Polly Klaas. KlaasKids Foundation child safety programs are designed to promote awareness and education for parents and children in an effort to protect children against violence. Since 1994, Print-A-Thon events have fingerprinted and photographed more than 1,000,000 children at no cost to families and without data basing children’s personal and private information. As a service to the community Per Mar Security Services is underwriting this program so that there is no charge to families.
