ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 28, 2023) — Christian Care, Rock Island will host the 2nd Annual “Frigid Feet” a Walk in the Shoes of the Homeless Event on December 16, 2023, beginning at Christian Care Rescue Mission located at 2209 3rd Avenue, Rock Island.
Did you know that roughly 450 men, women, and children in the Quad Cities are experiencing homelessness on any given night? Frigid Feet is a walk to raise awareness as to what the homeless community experiences on a day-to-day basis during the brutal winter months in Iowa and Illinois. To bring light to this situation, Christian Care has organized a walk that replicates what many in our community experience just to get a warm meal.
The walk will start at 9AM, snow or shine, at 2209 3rd Ave in Rock Island and will wind through the downtown area ending with a hot cup of soup and a sandwich provided by our local Hy-Vee.
The registration fee of $25 will get you a shirt, soup, and sandwich. Register by noon on Tuesday, December 5 to get a T-Shirt. All proceeds will support Christian Care programs and services.
