CORALVILLE, IOWA (July 1, 2025) — You’ll have fun with your friends while supporting a good cause by taking part in the “Christmas in July” Bike Tour hosted by the Quad Cities Bicycle Club on Sunday, July 13.

The tour is open to everyone, both QCBC members and members of the public. It begins and ends at Front Street Brewery’s taproom at the Freight House in Davenport at noon and covers about ten miles. The ride should finish at about 4PM.

Front Street is one of five local breweries that cyclists will visit on the tour; other stops include Stomp Box Brewery and Great River Brewery, both in Davenport, Adventurous Brewing in Bettendorf, and Bent River Brewery in Moline.

The cost to go on the tour is $10, with payment in cash taken at the start. Advance registration is not required; you need only to show up.

All proceeds will benefit Bikes for Tykes, an annual effort by the QCBC to brighten the holiday season by donating bicycles and accessories to the children of needy families in the area. Through a partnership with Toys for Tots, the program donated 160 bicycles in 2024, with each coming with a package that included a helmet, air pump, lock, and Whitey’s gift certificate.

You don’t have to be a beer drinker to participate in the tour; non-alcoholic beverages will be available at every stop. However, you are required to wear a helmet as you ride. Special beverage and food options will be offered along the way.

Those taking the tour will get a card that can be stamped to track their brewery visits. At the end of the tour, completed cards will be entered in a raffle, with winners receiving a gift basket from one of the participating venues.

You need not be present to win the raffle, and you can start the tour later than noon, but you must visit all five breweries to be eligible for a prize. In addition, a fifty/fifty drawing will be held.
