BETTENDORF, IOWA (October 18, 2019) — Since 2009, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train has come to Davenport, Iowa with their decorated train spreading holiday cheer while helping many in need of food. Churches United has been the proud recipients of the donations coming from the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train, collecting non-perishable, non-expired food items for their 24 food pantries, 3 hot meal sites, and domestic-violence shelter at this event. The community will have more to see as Churches United will be collaborating with the Freight House for their Christkindlmarkt. The event is free to the public, but donations of non-perishable food items to Churches United’s hunger ministry will gladly be accepted and appreciated.

Churches United will have Santa greeting the families at 7:30PM in the parking lot as he will have a treat for children 10 and under. The music will begin from the train at 9:15PM til 9:45PM. All proceeds and donations will benefit Churches United Food pantries, meal sites, and Winnie’s Place Domestic Violence Shelter.
