Federal agencies graded on how clearly they communicate

Congressman Dave Loebsack will release the 2016 Federal Plain Language Report Card, grading federal agencies on how clearly they communicate, on a media conference call on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 3:00 PM Eastern Time.

Congress passed the Plain Writing Act of 2010 because people deserve to receive information from federal agencies in language they can understand. Since 2012, the Center for Plain Language has been issuing a yearly report card evaluating how well federal agencies are communicating to the public. Agencies earn grades between A-F for writing & information design. This year the Center evaluated high-use forms from each agency.

Join the media call with Congressman Loebsack to see which agencies have made huge turnarounds and which ones still have work to do.
