DAVENPORT, IA – May 2018 –Gilda’s Club is hosting a FREE Cooking for One workshop for anyone who has lost a loved one due to cancer on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Gilda’s Club (1234 East River Drive, Davenport, IA). It can be difficult to find the motivation to cook after the death of a loved one, especially when shifting from cooking from one to two. Kristin Bogdonas, Extension Educator, Nutrition and Wellness with University of Illinois Extension, will join us in the kitchen for Kitchen Gadget Bingo and a demonstration of some healthy meal and snack options. Bogdonas will also bed incorporating information and techniques on how to reduce food waste at home. Bogdonas earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics from Illinois State University. She then went on to earn her post-graduate degree in the Master of Public Health program at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Registration is required.
