HAMPTON, ILLINOIS (October 22, 2019) — Illiniwek will host a Halloween event with costume- and campsite-decorating contests, hayrack rides, pumpkin painting, scarecrow building, bounce houses, a haunted house, and trick-or-treating on October 26, 12-6PM.

Attendees are invited to camp for the weekend, but do not have to camp to attend the free Halloween event. The costume- and campsite-decorating contests are family-friendly, and the costume contest will include an adult and child category. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in each contest. Supplies will be provided for pumpkin painting.

“With the end of the camping season approaching fast this event allows everyone to gather for one last big night in the campground before it closes for the season,” said Mike Petersen, Illiniwek superintendent. “This event is a great time for our regular campers, staff and the community to come together at the end of our camping season and celebrate a successful 2019.”
