ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (August 6, 2026) — The Cultural Trust will open the doors to its new downtown Rock Island office on Thursday, August 13, welcoming the community for tours, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a neighborhood block party before passing the baton to the Rock Island kickoff of Alternating Currents.
The celebration will take place at The Cultural Trust’s new office, located at 100 19th Street, Suite 108, in Rock Island.
Office tours begin at 4PM, followed by the official ribbon cutting at 4:15PM. A neighborhood celebration featuring local bites, local sips, and community connections.
At 5PM, the energy will carry into the Alternating Currents kickoff event in downtown Rock Island, creating a seamless transition from the opening of The Cultural Trust’s new home to a weekend celebrating the Quad Cities’ vibrant arts and culture scene.
“This is much more than the opening of a new office — it is the beginning of a bold new chapter for culture in our community,” said Jen Lewis-Snyder, President and CEO of The Cultural Trust.
“We are excited to open our doors, celebrate alongside our neighbors and then pass the baton to Alternating Currents as the arts take center stage throughout downtown Rock Island.”
The new office will strengthen The Cultural Trust’s presence in the community and provide a welcoming space to convene, collaborate, and advance its mission of supporting a thriving cultural sector across the Quad Cities.
Community members, arts supporters, neighborhood partners, and members of the media are invited to attend.
