DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 2, 2026) — The Davenport Community School District (DCSD) is excited to announce a partnership with the Davenport Public Library to launch the Books on the Program this summer. Designed to bring literacy resources directly to local neighborhoods, DPL Outreach Wheeled Library (OWL) will be visiting elementary schools across the district, offering students and families easy access to books and summer reading activities. DPL Summer Reading Program Information

This mobile library experience is packed with opportunities for fun and learning. At each stop, students can:

  • Pick up Summer Reading logs;
  • Learn about exciting reading prizes;
  • Sign up for a library card;
  • Check out books; and
  • And enjoy a refreshing popsicle while they browse!

“Our goal is to keep students engaged with reading over the summer and make library services more accessible for all families,” said Brittany Peacock, Youth Services Supervisor for the Davenport Public Library.
