Professor and historian Art Pitz will be presenting his annual Middle East lecture series at the Davenport Public Library and Rock Island Public Library in September and October.  Pitz will be discussing the complexities and hot-button topics relating to the Middle East, beginning with “ISIS Today: Dead or Alive?” at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue) on Wednesday, September 27 at 6:00 pm.  The complete lecture series is as follows: Lecture 1—“ISIS Today: Dead or Alive?” Wednesday, September 27 at 6:00pm Davenport Library-Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue) Lecture 2—“The Shia Arc: Revival of the Persian Empire?” Tuesday, October 10 at 6:00pm Rock Island Main Library (401 19th Street)

Lecture 3—“Israel and the Quad Cities:  Academic and Business Partners” Tuesday, October 17 at 6:00pm Rock Island Main Library (401 19th Street) Lecture 4—“The Republic of Yemen: Devastated and Strategic” Monday, October 23 at 6:00pm Davenport Library-Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue)
