Targeted ads will highlight the promise Rep Finkenauer kept to make government work for the people again

WASHINGTON DC (March 8, 2019) — Today, Representative Abby Finkenauer voted to crack down on big money in politics to rein in Washington's corrupt political system and make our government accountable to the American people again. With her vote, Rep Finkenauer helped to pass essential reforms to address dark money in politics, make voting more accessible and increase government transparency.

To show that Rep Finkenauer for delivered on her campaign promise to crack down on corruption, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching a targeted ad campaign on Facebook and Instagram highlighting Finkenauer’s vote.

The ad reads: PROMISE KEPT: Rep Finkenauer just voted for HR 1 — a bill that cracks down on special interests and their influence in Washington — and it PASSED! It proves that she’ll deliver results for our community and clean up the amount of money in our elections.

“Last November, Americans said loud and clear that they want a government that serves hardworking families, not the special interests who for too long have bought influence at the expense of the rest of us. With today’s vote to restore ethics and integrity to our democracy, Rep Finkenauer came through on her promise to make government work for the people again,” said DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos.
