WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (November 24, 2025) — Des Moines University (DMU) Medicine and Health Sciences has earned a Best of District VI Award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education for a video featuring one of its distinguished alumni. CASE awards recognize institutions that set the bar for excellence in alumni relations, fundraising, advancement services, special events, and marketing and communications.

The award-winning piece, titled "DMU Pioneer in Osteopathic Medicine and Public Service," shares the story of William G Anderson DO, a 1956 graduate of DMU's College of Osteopathic Medicine and a recipient of the university's highest honor, the Pioneers of Osteopathic Medicine Award. The video highlights Anderson's significant contributions to civil rights and osteopathic medicine.

The video, created by DMU videographer Paul Joy, also earned a national CASE Circle of Excellence Award earlier this year.

Located in West Des Moines, part of Iowa's capital metro, Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences offers ten graduate-level professional-degree programs in anatomy, biomedical sciences, health-care administration, occupational therapy, osteopathic medicine, physical therapy, physician-assistant studies, podiatric medicine, and public health. Founded in 1898, the institution offers superior academics in a collaborative environment. DMU students' scores on national examinations, pass-rates on board certifications, and match-rates for medical-residency programs are consistently higher than national averages and rates at peer institutions.
