BETTENDORF, IOWA (March 19, 2020) — After activating the Quad Cities Disaster Recovery Fund six days ago as part of our community's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, applications are now being accepted to award Disaster Recovery Grants as quickly as possible. The grants are only possible because individuals and businesses like you are giving generously to the fund. Lead gifts from the Community Foundation, United Way of the Quad Cities, as well as United Way Board Chair Linda Bower’s commitment to match up to $50,000 in donations, the Regional Development Authority, and other businesses and funders have raised $435,000 for this disaster response and recovery effort. Thank you.
A gift of any amount grows this fund.
Every gift will support the most vulnerable and affected members of our community during this pandemic. Join us in this response and recovery mission by making a contribution to the fund today. Whether it's $5 or $5,000 (or more!), your gift will make a real difference to the lives of your neighbors in need. For more information or if your business can make a corporate gift, please call Anne Calder at (563) 326-2840 or email AnneCalder@QCCommunityFoundation.org.
We've made it simple to apply for a grant.
Grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations, schools, or units of government located in or significantly serving Rock Island and Scott Counties. Grants will support efforts to “flatten the curve” of COVID-19 infections in the region by helping the community follow public health recommendations, and helping to address the financial impact and increased services caused by following those recommendations.
Grants can serve both individuals and businesses, though individuals and businesses cannot apply directly for the grants. No grants will replace funding from government tax dollars.
The grant application is short and simple to lessen the burden on organizations during this unprecedented moment. Applications will be evaluated and decisions issued on a rolling basis, as quickly as possible.
As funders, the Community Foundation wants to try and mitigate any worry or anxiety nonprofits may have about any current competitive grants they have from us. It is our responsibility to be flexible and responsive to community needs, and now is one of those times. Read how we're committed to working with nonprofits.
