IOWA CITY — Dr. Christopher Peters will be participating in an Iowa political tradition on Friday when he speaks on the Des Moines Register Political Soapbox at the Iowa State Fair. His appearance is scheduled for 4 p.m. and will last approximately 20 minutes.
“The soapbox is a unique tradition in Iowa politics that I am excited to participate in,” said Dr. Peters. “Every politician should have to face their constituents and answer the tough questions. The state fair offers the perfect platform for constructive discourse on all issues, and I applaud the Des Moines Register for sponsoring this event once again.”
The Soapbox is a longstanding tradition in Iowa politics that has become a rite of passage for politicians seeking state and national office. This year’s schedule features more than two dozen candidates, ranging from statewide officials to candidates for President of the United States.
Following his soapbox appearance, Dr. Peters will join the Iowa Pork Producers to serve pork chops to fairgoers. Voters are encouraged to stop Dr. Peters throughout the day to ask questions and take pictures. For more information on Dr. Christopher Peters and his campaign, please visit DrPetersForIowa.com.
