Noon to 1 PM on Friday, March 22, Eldridge branch of the Scott County Library

ELDRIDGE, IOWA (March 5, 2019) — State Senators Liz Mathis of Hiawatha and Rich Taylor of Mount Pleasant invite Eldridge residents to attend a listening-post at the Scott County Library-Eldridge Branch in Eldridge from 12-1PM on Friday, March 22. The library is located at 200 N 6th Ave in Eldridge.

Sens Mathis and Taylor will provide an update on the 2019 legislative session and welcome questions and comments from the local residents.

Sen Mathis is an Assistant Democratic Leader and the ranking member of the Human Resources Committee and Ag and Natural Resources Budget. She also serves on the Agriculture, Appropriations, Commerce, and Ethics committees. After working as a journalist for 22 years, she now works for an agency that helps troubled kids and their families. She was recently named to Governing Institute’s Women in Government Leadership Class of 2019.

Sen Taylor is an Assistant Democratic Leader and ranking member on the Veterans Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Agriculture, Judiciary, and Labor and Business Relations committees, as well as the Administration and Regulation Budget. Before retiring, Sen Taylor was responsible for the repair and operation of the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems at the Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison.
