DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 6, 2019) — The Quad City Symphony Orchestra (QCSO) is pleased to announce the hiring of Elizabeth Lundine as the new Prelude Strings Conductor for the Quad City Symphony Youth Ensembles.

Lundine is an orchestra director in the Davenport Community School District. She is currently the Associate Director of Orchestras at North High School, where she primarily directs the 9th Grade Orchestra. She also co-directs the 6th Grade Orchestra at Wood Intermediate as well as the 4th and 5th Grade Beginning Orchestras at Buchanan and Fillmore Elementary Schools. Lundine has previously worked with the Central Orchestras and various elementary schools in Davenport. Additionally, she teaches private violin lessons throughout the Quad Cities.

Elizabeth is originally from the Chicago suburbs and moved to the Quad Cities to attend Augustana College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. At Augustana, she studied primarily with Dr Susan Stone and Dr Daniel Culver. Since graduating, she has performed with several orchestras, string quartets, and pit orchestras in the Quad Cities. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys running marathons, racing local 5k’s/10k’s, and cheering on her former Cross Country/Track teammates at Augustana.

About the Quad City Symphony Youth Ensembles

The Quad City Symphony Youth Ensembles (QCSYE) program consists of five performance groups (four youth orchestras and a youth choir) for students in grades two through twelve. Under the direction of the outstanding QCSYE conducting staff, members have the opportunity to perform great orchestral and choral repertoire with the most talented young musicians in the area and learn from the mentorship of professional musicians from throughout the region. Ensemble members come from the greater Quad Cities, as well as other communities in southeast Iowa and northwest Illinois.
