Davenport's Emily Martin graduated from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, earning her Master of Divinity degree on May 21st.
Ms. Martin, 26, is a graduate of Davenport West High School, Scott Community College, and Iowa State University. She will be awaiting a call to become a pastor at an ELCA Lutheran church, probably in the upper Midwest, and begin her new career. As soon as that call comes, she will be ordained as the Reverend Emily Martin in her home church at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport.
Ms. Martin becomes the 17th person that has entered the clergy from the halls of St. Mark. Her parents, her family and friends, and the St. Mark congregation are extremely proud of her accomplishments.
