DAVENPORT, IOWA (November 6, 2020) — This release is to update with the changes to the in-person rally planned Saturday at 1PM at Vanderveer Park. Due to the high numbers of covid cases we felt a responsibility to our fellow community members to protect each other by moving this Rally/Prayer Vigil virtually.

This Saturday, Nocember 7, 1PM CT, faith leaders and grassroots leaders who persisted through an election year unlike any other will join other Iowa Grassroots leaders in Des Moines, Iowa City, Waterloo, Red Oak, and Eldora in hosting these public events.

Quad Citians, young and old, across religions, race, and place of origin will stand up for the values that underpin American democracy: Count every vote, the peaceful transition of power, and putting power in the hands of people where it belongs.

Now more than ever we must unite to heal our nation and move forward to address the issues we need to focus on like the pandemic.

The mission of the #CountEveryVote Rally and Pray Vigil is to create a government of, by, and for-and accountable to-the people. This event will be fast paced with speakers limited to 90 seconds, interspersed with prayers, songs, and chants.

WHO: Quad Cities Interfaith Faith Leaders, Progressive Action for the Common Good, One Human Family, Islamic Center of the Quad Cities, Quad Cities Federation of Labor, Quad Cities Youth Advisory Council, QC Pride, and Liberian Community of the Quad Cities.
