Fall doesn’t have to mark the end of the growing season. Many say that gardening is a year-round activity, which includes learning and planning for the next year. Growing Along the River−Focus on Fall Gardening Conference will feature keynote speaker Rick Darke, acclaimed landscape designer, consultant, and author of many published books such as Gardens of the High Line: Elevating the Nature of Modern Landscapes and The Living Landscape−Designing for Beauty and Biodiversity in the Home Garden. He will inspire, educate, and discuss design concepts and essential living layers in the landscape.
All gardeners, both novice and seasoned, will learn, mingle, and share ideas on all aspects of Midwest gardening. This year's conference will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Scott Community College, 500 Belmont Road, Bettendorf, Iowa, from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Two keynote presentations with Darke and four breakout sessions will be offered. Participants will choose from 16 additional gardening topics presented by professors, horticulturalists, and local experts. Lunch from Panera Bread is included in the $40 registration fee.
The conference is presented by ISU Scott County Extension Master Gardeners. Complete conference information and registration is online at www.eicc.edu/focusonfall, or call 563-359-7577 for more information.
