DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 5, 2026) — The Empowering Abilities Booster Organization is welcoming fall with its second annual Mum Sale, featuring beautiful, locally grown hardy mums perfect for porches, patios and gardens. Each purchase supports opportunities for adults with disabilities to build friendships, make memories and enjoy meaningful social connections.
The Empowering Abilities Boosters are committed to providing fun, engaging social activities for adults with disabilities supported by Empowering Abilities. Through fundraisers like the Mum Sale, the volunteer-led group helps make dances, bowling leagues, parties, picnics and other special experiences possible throughout the year.
“These activities are about so much more than having fun — they create opportunities for people to connect, develop friendships, and experience a genuine sense of belonging,” said Amber Wood, Vice President of Development and Communications at Empowering Abilities.
“Every mum purchased helps our Boosters continue creating those moments for the people we support.”
Following the success of its inaugural sale in 2025, the Booster Organization hopes to make this year’s fundraiser even more colorful with support from across the Quad Cities community.
“A beautiful mum may brighten your front porch for the season, but the impact of your purchase lasts throughout the year,” Wood added.
“It helps fill the calendar with activities our participants look forward to and memories they carry with them long after an event ends.”

• Order deadline: Noon on Friday, September 4
• Price: $15 per mum (eight-to-ten-inch pot)
• Colors: Maroon, purple, orange, yellow or Harvest — a cheerful orange, yellow, and pink blend. Color availability may vary
