Event features Sanctuary Choir, Chamber Chorale, Vesper Bells, Celebration Singers, the Cecelian Carolers, and a full orchestra

DAVENPORT, IOWA (December 5, 2019) — The 2019 First Presbyterian Church Christmas Concert continues its tradition of excellence. This year’s concert, Let Heaven and Nature Sing, will be presented on Saturday, December 14, at 7:30PM, and Sunday, December 15, at 4PM in the historic sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church at 1702 Iowa Street in Davenport. The concert will feature the acclaimed Sanctuary Choir, Chamber Chorale, Vesper Bells, Celebration Singers, the Cecelian Carolers, and a full orchestra.

This year’s concert is centered around our calling to be stewards of creation. Utilizing carols and readings that feature natural imagery, this concert is both a celebration of our environment and a reminder that we are charged with its protection and everlasting sustainability. As a practical act of stewardship, we are asking for concert attendees to bring non-perishable pet food (in individual, unopened containers) to be donated to King’s Harvest Pet Rescue and Shelter.

A highlight of this year’s concert repertoire is the Third Suite of The Many Moods of Christmas, an enthralling collection of traditional carols brilliantly arranged and orchestrated by Robert Shaw and Robert Russell Bennett. As always, the concert will also feature an abundance of favorite carols and Christmastide hymns.
