DIXON, IOWA (May 9, 2025) — On Saturday, May 17, 2025, 9AM, there will be a Forage to Fork: Spring Edition program held at the Wapsi River Environmental Education Center in Dixon, Iowa. Come learn about the many wild edibles in your own neck of the woods. We will focus on foraging basics, foraging safety, identifying plants, and preparing wild edibles. We will take a hike outdoors to identify and forage some of the spring wild edibles available during this time. After the hike, put your cast iron cooking skills to the test and make pizza topped with pesto and other foraged greens and mushrooms over a campfire! Program fee of $2/person for supplies payable at registration. Online registration is required.

The Wapsi River Environmental Education Center can be found 6 miles south of Wheatland or one mile northwest of Dixon, Iowa by taking County Road Y4E. Then turn north at 52nd Avenue and follow the signs for about one mile.
