ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 27, 2025) — The Friendship Manor Continuing Care Retirement Community will reveal its extensively renovated independent living community, “The Terraces at Friendship Manor,” at an open house event next week. The event is free and open to the public.

"Friendship Manor has proudly served the Rock Island community for over 40 years, and with our $12.5 million renovation and the rebranding of our independent living to ‘The Terraces,’ we’re excited to build on our strong legacy,” Friendship Manor President and CEO Ted Pappas said. “This transformation brings modern amenities to a trusted, faith-based community where residents continue to thrive. We’re thrilled to share this new chapter with our neighbors at the sneak peek open house."

The renovation and rebranding of Friendship Manor’s independent living community is the largest piece of the Manor’s extensive, $12.5 million “Re-Establishing Friendship” project that kicked off in October of last year. The campus-wide project includes extensive aesthetic and infrastructure updates, a new, state-of-the-art therapy and fitness center, and more.

The Friendship Manor marketing team, Betty Hoff, Heather Stancliff, and Emily Tompson, show off one of the revamped apartments at the Manor’s newly-renovated independent-living community “The Terraces at Friendship Manor"

The Terraces at Friendship Manor includes 88 fully-renovated independent-living apartments, expanded and upgraded dining at Bistro 1209, the new Sapphire Dining Room, and new activity spaces including the mid-century modern-inspired Lounge (’42).

The Terraces sneak peek open house runs 2-4PM, Thursday, May 29, at the Friendship Manor campus, at 1209 21st Ave in Rock Island, Illinois. It includes a tour of the renovated facility and complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages. Visitors are advised to enter The Terraces at the “D” building entrance.
