MOLINE, ILLINOIS (November 2, 2021) — Gilda’s Club is hosting two FREE educational workshops for anyone impacted by cancer who wants to learn how to be more tech-savvy on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, 6-8PM and Thursday, December 2, 2021, 6-8PM, at the Moline Board Room at UnityPoint — Trinity Moline, located at 600 John Deere Road, Suite 300, Moline, Illinois, 61265.

Cancer patients are invited to come learn with college students about how to be more tech-savvy. Our volunteers can help you learn how to better understand your diagnosis, research treatment options, and access support. Examples of what students can help you learn:

  • Internet use (opening e-mail accounts, navigating Google, creating and remembering passwords, etc);
  • Social-media skills (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram);
  • Creating virtual connections with other cancer patients via on-line patient support communities; and
  • How to use apps such as Uber and other ride-share services to get to appointments.

Participants should attend one of the two available workshops on Tuesday, November 30, 6-8PM, or Thursday, December 2, 6-8PM. Please bring your devices with you to the workshop (smart phone, tablet, iPad, laptop, etc).

Registration is REQUIRED to attend these workshops.
