DES MOINES, IOWA (October 8, 2021) Governor Kim Reynolds released the following statement today in response to Judge Pratt’s decision to grant a preliminary injunction:

“We will never stop fighting for the rights of parents to decide what is best for their children and to uphold state laws enacted by our elected legislators. We will defend the rights and liberties afforded to all American citizens protected by our constitution.”

Judge Pratt’s decision has been appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. The case will be assigned to a three-judge panel in the coming days.
