DES MOINES, IOWA (June 3, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds has appointed Iowa State University student Zack Leist to the Iowa Board of Regents, effective today. This appointment is to succeed Rachael Johnson, and the appointment term will last until April 30, 2021.

“It’s an honor to serve the Iowa Board of Regents and share my experiences in Agricultural Business, International Agriculture, Economics, and Agronomy subjects,” said Leist. “I sincerely appreciate Gov Reynolds for selecting me to this position so I can bring perspective from rural Iowa.”

Zack Leist, of Clarion, Iowa, will be a junior at Iowa State University in the fall of 2019. Leist is a triple-major in Agricultural Business, Economics, and International Agriculture with a minor in Agronomy. His past work experiences include interning at DuPont Pioneer Meyer Ag Services and agriculture production-assistant at Sebert and Leist Family Farms. He is a member of many student organizations, including Collegiate Cattlemen’s Club, ISU Agricultural Business Club, and ISU Iowa Corn Growers Club.
