DES MOINES, IOWA (April 16, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds released the following statement after the Iowa Senate voted in a strong bipartisan manner to pass HF690, legislation to create a statewide children’s mental-health system:

“Today we moved closer to establishing a first of its kind statewide children’s mental-health system, one of my top priorities for this year. Iowans understand this crucial effort has the potential to improve and even save lives. I commend the Iowa Legislature on their bipartisan approach to get this done and look forward to signing this bill once it reaches my desk.”

The vote in the Iowa Senate was 46-2.
