DES MOINES, IOWA (February 18, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds issued a proclamation on Monday setting the date for a special election following the resignation of State Senator Jeff Danielson for Tuesday, March 19, 2019.

Iowa Code 69.14 outlines the authority given to the governor to set a special election. Danielson was a four term Senator serving Senate District 30, which includes Waterloo, Cedar Falls, and Hudson.
