DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 28, 2026) — Great Oaks High School and Career Center will celebrate the opening of its new Davenport campus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, September 30, 11AM. with Education Champion Governor Kim Reynolds in attendance alongside students, families, school leaders, and community partners. This will be held at 3562 Brady Street Davenport, Iowa, 52806.
The tuition-free charter high school, located at 3560 North Brady Street, serves students ages sixteen to twenty who are seeking a flexible, individualized pathway to earning their high school diploma. The school combines credit recovery and personalized academic support with career technical education designed to prepare students for life after graduation.
“Great Oaks represents more than the opening of a new school — it represents new possibilities for young people throughout the Davenport community,” said Cris Gulacy-Worrel, Vice President of Oakmont Education.
“Our model recognizes that students do not all take the same path to graduation. By pairing individualized academics with meaningful career preparation, we can help students earn their diplomas while building the confidence and skills they need for what comes next.”
Great Oaks High School and Career Center offers flexible scheduling, individualized learning plans, support from caring educators, and career-focused opportunities in high-demand fields such as construction, advanced manufacturing, and health-care.
“We are excited to open our doors and show the Davenport community what makes Great Oaks different,” said Tammy Conrad, School Director.
“Our students deserve a learning environment where they feel supported, understood, and capable of achieving their goals. This ribbon-cutting celebrates the school’s opening, but it also celebrates every student who is ready to take the next step toward graduation and a successful future.”
Members of the community are invited to attend the ceremony, meet the Great Oaks team, learn about the school’s academic and career programs, and tour the new campus.
