MILAN, IL - With an ongoing commitment to the success of local children, Moline Public Schools Foundation received a generous donation from Group O Founder and Chairman Robert Ontiveros and his wife Blenda, designating the purchase of 30 Chrome Notebooks for Lincoln-Irving Elementary in Moline. The Chromebooks were purchased at cost through the generosity of Advanced Business Systems and will be presented to the school on Monday, January 23 at 9 a.m. by representatives of Group O, Moline Public Schools Foundation and Lincoln-Irving Elementary School.
"I believe that education is the foundation of a strong community and ensures that our youth are prepared for the future,” said Bob Ontiveros. “It is important that our schools have the most up-to-date technology that offers innovative and creative educational experiences.”
Superintendent of Schools, Lanty McGuire supports increasing technology in the classroom. "It is vital Moline-Coal Valley Schools provide a 21st learning environment that integrates today's digital tools into all instruction so as to increase critical thinking, apply creativity, adapt to individual learning styles, and encourage collaboration and communication.” said McGuire, “We are grateful for the contribution from Bob and Blenda Ontiveros and Advanced Business Systems, which helps bring this 21st century learning technology into more classrooms at Lincoln-Irving.”
